Hardware Engineer

If you work with E-plan and want to use your experience to really shape the direction of hardware engineering, then we’re looking for you at GTE Engineering.As a Hardware Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of electrical systems for our advanced machines. You will work closely with colleagues from the mechanical, software and project management teams to deliver complete solutions. This is a new role in which you will have considerable freedom to shape our hardware engineering.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Hardware Engineer:

  • Designing electrical schematics using E-plan
  • Determining and calculating hardware requirements based on a design document and I/O list
  • Work planning and drawing up procurement lists
  • Carrying out various calculations, such as performance level
  • Supervising and monitoring hardware engineering activities
  • Proposing and implementing improvements
  • Collaborating with various disciplines to deliver complete automation solutions
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and mentoring colleagues
  • Setting up and establishing the E-PLAN structure
  • Developing a template with correct wire, cable and component codes

Function requirements

What do you bring to the role?

  • At least 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering and working with E-PLAN.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Independent, proactive and able to lead projects.
  • A team player with good communication skills.
  • Analytical, meticulous and solution-oriented.
